Who am I?
Hi there! I'm Matthijs Logemann, a freelance software developer with a passion for technology since I was young. What started as curiosity about code grew into a lifelong passion.
After more than 14 years of programming experience and countless projects, from mobile apps to complex AV systems and internal tools, I've learned that the best technology is invisible – it just works.
My Master's in Computer Science at TU Eindhoven (graduated with a 9.5!) gave me the theoretical foundation, but real experience comes from years of working with companies of all sizes.

Apple WWDC Scholarship
In 2015 and 2017 I got a unique opportunity: as a WWDC Scholarship winner I got to travel to California to attend Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference. My work was selected from thousands of submissions – and I even ended up on Apple's homepage.
An amazing experience that taught me tremendously:
- UX with impact: not just beautiful, but especially intuitive and fast.
- Smart performance: lightweight code that runs smoothly, even in complex environments.
- Real platform skills: deep knowledge of iOS and Apple's best practices.
I've been bringing that mix of creativity and technical precision to all my projects ever since.
Result: software that radiates energy, feels professional and just works great.
From theory to practice
Master's Thesis (Eindhoven University of Technology)
In 2024 I completed my Master's in Computer Science & Engineering with a thesis on the evolution of file structures in software projects. I analyzed commit history of more than 94,000 open-source projects on GitHub (in ten different programming languages) which gave me unique insights into:
- How software projects grow and evolve
- Why certain architectural choices are successful
- How maintainability and scalability relate
What I take from that into my work:
- Strong sense of software maintainability and scalability.
- Experience with data mining and HPC clusters for large-scale analyses.
- Deep insight into how software projects evolve and how to smartly anticipate that.

More than just code
Volunteer Work & Leadership
For years I've been active as a volunteer at Scouting Ridder Fulco, where I am active as team leader and technical coordinator. This role perfectly combines my passion for technology with social involvement.
What I do there:
- Team leadership: Guide a team of young people and stimulate their development
- Technical support: Manage and improve all digital systems
- Event organization: Coordinate everything from weekly gatherings to large camps and events
- Problem solving: Come up with creative solutions for practical challenges and adapt quickly to changing circumstances
This experience has taught me how to make complex logistics simple, how to motivate and lead teams and how technology can really help in daily practice. Those skills are invaluable in my work as a freelancer.
